What is Color Match Wrap? Open tab
Color Match Wrap is a made-to-order automotive vinyl film created in factorypaint colors. It is positioned by the store as the world's only automotive OEMpaint-color matching vinyl. It can be used for paint-color matching, chromedelete, trim and interior parts, paint-chip and scratch repair, protectiveaccents, partial refinishing, full-vehicle wrap projects, or color changesusing real automotive colors. It is vinyl, not sprayed paint. It is usually faster and cleaner to install thanpaint, creates less mess and odor, and can protect the original surface.
Can Color Match Wrap match my vehicle's factory paint color? Open tab
Color Match Wrap is made to match the factory paint specification for your colorcode as the color was when new. We are not matching the current aged paint on aspecific vehicle, and there can be normal variation between vehicles, productionruns, sun exposure, and older finishes. Most colors are covered by the listed pricing. Some older, very low-volume,motorcycle, or unusually complex colors may require a larger minimum order or anupcharge. Why does Color Match Wrap cost more than off-the-shelf vinyl? Open tab
Color Match Wrap is made to the manufacturer paint-code specification youprovide. Instead of asking you to choose the closest generic vinyl color, weproduce vinyl for your factory color code so it can be used for paint-colormatching, trim, chrome delete, panels, protective accents, repairs, and largerrefinishing projects. That is different from off-the-shelf vinyl. Standard vinyl colors are chosen bythe vinyl manufacturer for general wrap projects. They can be useful when youjust want a red, blue, white, black, or silver, but they are not made to match avehicle manufacturer's factory paint-code formula.Automotive paint codes are much more specific. There can be many differentfactory whites, blues, reds, silvers, blacks, and other color families, eachwith its own formula and effect. Reproducing one of those paint-code colors invinyl is a more complex made-to-order process than picking a color from astandard vinyl chart.
How much Color Match Wrap should I order for my project? Open tab
For partial wraps, order based on the longest continuous piece you want tocover, not only the total square area. For any project, allow enough material tocover the part or vehicle, trim cleanly, and practice if you are new towrapping.Measure the part first and identify the longest continuous piece you want tocover without breaks, seams, or overlaps. That longest run dictates the rolllength you need to order. For example, a chrome-delete strip, bumper section, grille piece, mirror cap, trim piece, or panel repair may need a longer rollthan the square area alone would suggest if you want one continuous piece ofvinyl. As general planning examples, a large SUV can often be wrapped with five 4.5 ftx 12 ft rolls, a sedan often uses four to five 4.5 ft x 12 ft rolls, and largertrucks or SUVs can require five to six rolls depending on the vehicle andinstaller allowance. Front and rear truck bumpers can often be wrapped with one4.5 ft x 9 ft roll, or one 4.5 ft x 9 ft roll plus one 4.5 ft x 12 ft roll whenalso wrapping the grille. For other jobs, measure the project first and order based on the area, complexity, trimming allowance, and practice needs. Contact us before orderingif you are unsure which size to choose.

Material, Finish, And Durability Open tab
What are the main technical specifications? Open tab
Color Match Wrap is its own cast, laminated vinyl film with air-releaseadhesive. It is dimensionally stable, has low initial tack for easierplacement, and offers long-term removability when removed with appropriatewarming and care.It is designed for body paint color matching, chip and scratch repair, trimparts, chrome delete, repaired or new parts, protective accents, and OEM-colorcolor-change work.
How glossy is it? Open tab
Color Match Wrap has good depth and gloss and can look very close to automotivepaint. It is still vinyl, so it is not as glossy as high-quality sprayed paint. Its advantages are repairability, cleaner application, protection, removability, and the ability to make complex factory colors in vinyl.Gloss is the normal finish. Satin or matte finishes may be available with anupcharge when requested before production.
How long does it last, and is it durable and protective? Open tab
Color Match Wrap can last for years and can help protect the covered surface, but real-life durability depends on sun exposure, weather, abrasion, roaddebris, washing habits, and how the surface was prepared before installation.Color Match Wrap is thicker and more scratch resistant than standard vinyl. Itcan help protect against chips, scratches, UV exposure, and everyday wear. Manycustomers use it in a paint-protection-film style role, especially where theywant paint-matched protection rather than a clear film. The adhesive is pressure sensitive. Light pressure allows repositioning duringinstallation, and firm pressure completes adhesion. On a clean surface, the filmwill adhere strongly and should not simply fall off in rain, car washes, ornormal washing. It can wrap around panel edges instead of leaving the visible borders common tosome paint protection films. NanoCoat can help the vinyl stay cleaner and resistscratches longer.
Installation, Removal, And Care Open tab
Can I install Color Match Wrap for chrome delete, repairs, or a full vehicle wrap? Open tab
Yes. Many smaller Color Match Wrap and Paint Chip Sticker projects areDIY-friendly, but preparation, warmth, light initial pressure, and practicematter. The film uses air-release adhesive channels to help reduce bubbles andwrinkles. Apply it lightly at first so it can be repositioned, then press firmlyonce it is in the correct position. For paint chip stickers, clean the paint with good car shampoo, rinse and drythoroughly, apply in a warm work area, choose the best shape, place with lightpressure, reposition if needed, then press firmly to seal the adhesive. The Color Match Wrap application guideexplains how to practice, prepare the surface, apply the film, handle curves, and care for the finished installation. Review the guide before starting, especially if you are new to vinyl installation.
How do I remove Color Match Wrap? Open tab
Color Match Wrap should be warmed and peeled carefully from the base vinyllayer, not just the clear laminate layer. Warm the work area, surface, and filmbefore removal. A hair dryer or heat gun can help.Paint chip stickers are removable when warmed, but they are designed to adherestrongly enough that they should not wash off during normal use.
Who can install Color Match Wrap? Open tab
Many customers install Color Match Wrap themselves, especially smaller projectswhere the surface area is limited and the application is simple. Review theColor Match Wrap application guidebefore starting so you can practice, prepare the surface, handle curves, andcare for the finished installation.DIY can also be realistic for larger projects, including bumpers and full-carwraps, when the customer is willing to practice and plan the installation.Practice pieces or factory seconds can be ordered with your order or afterwardso you can get a feel for the vinyl and test shapes before working on the finalpanel. Professional installers do the same kind of planning when they approachnew panels, curves, seams, or multi-piece applications. If you would rather have help, a professional sign shop or vehicle graphics shopcan also install Color Match Wrap.
Does Color Match Wrap stick to glass or plastic? Open tab
Color Match Wrap can adhere to many smooth automotive surfaces when the surfaceis clean and properly prepared, but plastics and textured surfaces can vary. Before applying vinyl to an uncertain surface, try a simple masking-tape test:if masking tape adheres to the surface normally, vinyl will usually adherenormally too. Review the Color Match Wrap application guidebefore installation for surface preparation, practice, curves, and care.
How should I care for it? Open tab
Care for Color Match Wrap much like automotive paint. Keep the surface clean anduse a good spray-on, wipe-off coating regularly to help keep the vinylhydrophobic and easier to clean without scrubbing.Color Match Wrap can usually be waxed or ceramic coated, but always testcoatings on scrap first to confirm compatibility with the laminate. A very mildcompound may be used carefully when appropriate.
